Fifteen intrepid Monarchs members braved the blisters, the sunshine and the heat to complete a ‘Marathon’ from Monifieth to Arbroath and back again.
The club members were completing the event for sponsorships to assist the running of the junior development trainings and club funds.
Some members were unable to take part due to District Trials. It is hoped they will complete the challenge over the coming weeks.
Monarchs players and officials are walking from Monifieth to Arbroath Sports Centre Hockey Pitch and back again. We will be walking a total of 26 Miles to raise funds for the junior programme we are running! For full details and sponsorship sheets see David Hunter! The event can only go ahead if we have minimum 20 participants and we ask that you try to raise a minimum of £50 each ask your family and friends, work colleagues and school mates to sponsor you if you can.
Confirmed meeting point for The Monarchs Marathon on Sunday is the car park outside The Vault Bar on Reform Street Monifieth. Please all meet, no later than 9:45 to leave at 10am sharp. We would suggest you bring comfy sports trainers and a waterproof and a jumper to cater for all scottish weathers. Also we suggest you bring enough food to last you for a good 6 hours! We are unsure of the total time the event will take but it is estimated at 6 hours possible more depending on the pace we all are comfortable walking at.
