Monarchs Fundraising Charity

The club is excited to announce that 10% of the funds raised at this season’s fundraising events will be donated towards Craigowl Primary School’s efforts to purchase a defibrillator for the local community.

Monarchs coaching team already work with Craigowl Primary as one of our cluster schools through Active Schools and we are happy to further strengthen this link by announcing our support of Craigowl Primary’s efforts in raising the required £1,500 which will see this potentially life saving piece of equipment situated within the community.

Christmas Jumper Quiz 2016

This Years Christmas Jumper Quiz Night will be held on Saturday 3rd December at The Occidental in Broughty Ferry the Quiz will start at 7:30 so please arrive early to get your refreshments and get ready to go.

As usual there will be a prize for the best Christmas Jumpers, so dig out your best one and we look forward to seeing it on the night.

Quiz teams are restricted to a maximum of 4 per team and the entry is £10 per team payable on the night.


Training Update

Wednesday 9th November

This date marks the end of outdoor training for the men’s side of the club with them moving indoor on Tuesday 15th at Eastern 8-10 and Wednesday 16th at Carnoustie Leisure Centre also 8-10. If you have any questions regarding training please speak to Callum White or David Hunter

The ladies will continue to train outdoor until Wednesday 30th November.

Mens & Ladies Cup Progression

Well done to our Men’s 1st Team squad who progressed into the last 8 of the Scottish Cup with a 5-4 Penalty Flick win over Aberdeen Grammar the game finished 2-2 after 70 minutes! Must be something in the water as our ladies team progressed into the semi finals of the plate too! Excellent results for the club! The Men’s 1st Team have drawn a home tie against Kelburne the match will be played at Dalnacraig on Sunday 13th November at 15:00 we look forward to welcoming your support on the day.


Race Night Success

We would like to thank everyone who sponsored races, attended, bought horses, sold horses and got involved in the night your support is invaluable!

Thanks must also go to the amazing Tote team last night David Hunter Nicola Tisdall and Mark Wilson you guys made the event run smoothly!

Congratulations must go to all the race winners and owners if you’ve not received your prize rest assured it’s on its way to you through your team mates! A special mention to Caoimhe Duncan and Elaine Duncan who between them won the final race and banked £300 and a very nice bottle of champagne not a bad start to your 18th birthday week Caoimhe! Well done

Last but not least we raised the most we have ever raised from a singular fundraising event and it’s all down to you! £1100 means last night couldn’t have been anymore successful so thank you all very much again!

Race Night 2016

This seasons Race Night will take place on Saturday 15th October from 7pm, the venue will be Morgan Rugby Club.
Race Night sponsor sheets are available from Craig Munro and Nic Tisdall.

On the night there will be the opportunity to bid for horses before each race to secure you and your horse a place in the final race where there will be the added incentive of an enhanced cash prize. There will also be refreshments from the bar.

We hope you can join us on the 15th and be a part of another successful night with the club.


Pre Season Meeting

This seasons Pre Season Meeting will take place on Saturday 20th August 11am, the meeting will be held at Morgan Rugby Club afterwards we have the pitch booked from 2-3:30 at Dalnacraig for a mixed training session.

We would encourage all current and prospective members to attend.

Club AGM

With the playing season drawing to a close this weekend the time has come for the clubs Annual General Meeting.

The AGM will be held at Morgan Rugby Club, Alloway Terrace, Dundee. The meeting will start 7:15 on Wednesday 18th May and doors will be open from 6:45pm. Refreshments will be availble to purchase behind the bar. All current club members are encouraged to attend and of course if you are under 18 we would encourage your parents/guardians to come along too.

GoalHunter & Awards Dinner

Attention all Monarchs Supporters

Saturday June 11th 2016, whatever your plans are cancel them as this day will be taken over by Monarchs Hockey Club

As usual we will have our annual GoalHunter Tournament at DISC on this day but it won’t just stop there.

We are pleased to announce our very first Awards Dinner will be held in the evening. The Dinner will be held at The West Park in Dundee and will be a black tie event, the evening will consist of a sparkling wine cocktail on arrival, a 3 course meal, awards ceremony and of course entertainment will commence after the conclusion of the awards ceremony.

This event is invite only, although most of the invites have already been sent we may have missed you out by mistake so please accept our apologies, but if you would like to attend the GoalHunter, the Awards Dinner or both please private message this account with your details and we will happily send you an invite!

For those who have already replied we thank you for your continued support for our ever growing club and we hope you are all looking forward to the day.
